Women's U23 World Championship to benefit from Anti-Doping Outreach Programme

An Anti-Doping Outreach Programme will be open to players, coaches, managers and medical staff at the FIVB Volleyball U23 Women's World Championship in Ankara

Lausanne, Switzerland, August 12, 2015 - An Anti-Doping Outreach Programme will be opened to players, coaches, managers and medical staff at the FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship in Ankara, Turkey on August 15-16.

The aim of the programme, which will be held at the players' hotel in Ankara, is to improve participants' knowledge of anti-doping rules. A short interactive session and presentation of useful tools will provide valuable information. Participants will also be able to put their questions to Medical Delegate Dr. Ufuk Demirkilic and representatives from the Turkish Anti-Doping Commission.

The programme uses an e-learning tool developed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Participants will also complete a quiz and be eligible to win fun prizes.

The Anti-Doping Outreach Programme at the Women's U23 World Championship in Ankara follows similar initiatives at the FIVB's flagship events. More information on the WADA Outreach Model can be found here.
