Silva Juma honoured with U23 World Championship MVP award

 

Ankara, Turkey, August 19, 2015 – Brazil’s setter Silva Juma headlined the Dream Team for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship Turkey 2015 after an outstanding performance in the gold-medal match victory against Turkey.

Along with the MVP award, Silva Juma was selected for Best Setter of the tournament. Her teammate Rosamaria received the Best Opposite award. Silver medallist Turkey was represented on the Dream Team by Kubra Akman as Best Middle Blocker and Gizem as Best Libero. The Dominican Republic, the bronze medalists, had Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez as Best Outside Spiker. Arisa Inoue of Japan was awarded the Second Best Outside Spiker while Italy’s Sara Bonifacio received the award for the Second Best Middle Blocker.

"This was a very challenging tournament", said Silva Juma after the gold medal match. "I can’t believe we won the gold medal and are champions. I am absolutely thrilled to have won the best setter and MVP award for this tournament."
