Dominican Republic coach Wagner Pacheco: This wasn’t an easy match for us today and we have more challenging matches coming up that we need to prepare for.
Dominican Republic captain Elizabeth Brayelin Martinez: I’m happy for the win today, but we need to work harder as the next matches will be difficult for us.
Cuba coach Wilfredo Robinson: We started with a huge motivation. Unfortunately we couldn’t keep the same rhythm throughout the whole match. We need to improve our offense with a better connection between setter and spikers.
Cuba captain Claudia Hernandez: It’s difficult for us to deal with our mistakes. We lost concentration and determination. However, we work hard to improve and learn from our errors.
