Argentina prepare for the South American Women's Junior Championship in Colombia
Buenos Aires, Argentina, September 26, 2014 - The Women's Junior South American Championship begins on Tuesday, September 30 in the city of Barranca Bermeja, Colombia. The Argentine girls, coached by Guillermo Nazabal, were gathered at the Cenard facilities in Buenos Aires from September 17-27 and leave for Colombia on Monday, September 29.
Candelaria Herrera was injured during training and has been replaced by Paula Massimino, MVP at the U23 Pan-American Cup.
The team includes the same players who participated in the Youth Girls' World Championship Thailand 2013, who will one day form the core of the senior national team. The delegation does not include Elina Rodríguez and Sol Piccolo, however, who are both participating in the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Italy.
The South American Championship ends on October 4. The best two teams will qualify for the 2015 World Championship. Argentina's official roster includes:
