I’m very happy to be in the finals - Turkey player Ceylan Arisan

 

Ankara, Turkey, August 18, 2015 - Turkey booked the last ticket to the finals on Tuesday night at the FIVB Women’s U23 World Championship, where a spectacular match took place against Japan when the hosts won 3-1 (25–20, 25–12, 24–26, 25-22). Read more for match quotes from coaches and captains.

Turkey coach Ferhat Akbaş: Games against Japan are always difficult. We started off well but our standstill during the third set allowed Japan to take a step. Once you lose a set against Japan, it’s challenging to comeback which we did in this occasion. We need to prepare for tomorrow's match and I hope we will win the gold medal.

Turkey player Kübra Akman: We started off extremely well but the third set we made simple mistakes otherwise we could have won 3-0. Tomorrow we will win the gold medal in front of our crowd.

Turkey player Ceylan Arısan: I’m very happy to be in the finals, we deserved this win and tomorrow we believe that we will win this tournament.

Turkey player Gizem Örge: I’m happy that we reached the finals and we believe that we will win the gold medal in front of our spectators.
