I am satisfied with our progress – China coach Jiande Xu

Ankara, Turkey, August 17, 2015 – Titleholder China outclassed Cuba 3-0 (25-6, 25-8, 25-8) at 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship in Ankara, Turkey on Monday evening. Read what coaches and captains said after the match.

China coach Jiande Xu: Expect for today’s match, we always needed some time to get into the matches. However, I am satisfied with our progress.

China captain Xintong Chen: The key match was against Dominican Republic. They are very tall and played with a strong offense. We couldn’t stop them. That’s why we eventually finished third in our group and missed the semifinals.

Cuba coach Wilfredo Robinson:  We were demoralised at the beginning of the match and lacked in defence. The players were mentally tired and couldn’t concentrate on the match. I think Turkey have a great chance of winning the tournament, I wish them good luck.

Cuba player Claudia Hernandez: We made a lot of mistakes during the games and lacked in experience as we weren’t prepared to play as a complete team, though the overall experience has been positive.
