Team profile

Brazil

Brazil will enter the FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship with strong motivation. Brazil boasts new talents such as opposite spiker Rosamaria and setter Naiane under coach Wagão. Last year, Wagão led his team to victory at the South American U22 Championship in Colombia. In this last edition of the U23 World Championship in 2013, Brazil finished in seventh place.

Wagner Coppini Fernandes

Wagner Coppini Fernandes

Former player Wagão has had a successful career as a coach. He has been working for Brazilian club team Pinheiros since 2007. This year, he guided his arsenal of young players to the title of the Brazilian Cup. In 2014, Wagão began coaching the Brazilian women’s U23 team that competed and captured the South American U22 Championship title. Wagão’s main goal is to perform well at the 2015 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship in Ankara, Turkey.
